Curriculum for Quranic and Islamic Studies The following is a brief summary of the Curriculum for the Quranic and Islamic Studies used in MACE Sunday Classes following the Iqra Elementary Curriculum. Recognize the letters of Arabic alphabets. 2. Recognize the letters in initial, middle and final position. 3 .Understand the sound of each letter. 4. Learn the Haraka or vowels . 5. Correct pronunciation. 6. Recite fluently. 7. Memorization of the some surahs of the Holy Quran. 8. Define the terms Ayah, Surah and Juz. 9. Start the Juz. Amma 10. Start the Quran al Kareem Juz 1 Alif Lam meem and ……………. 11. Firm belief that Quran is the word of Allah(swt)- Wahi brought to Rasulullah (sas) through Angel Jibrail. It is a guidance to us. A firm belief that not a single word of Quran has changed. 12. Learn to respect the Quran. Understand the meanings of the Quran through translations. 13. Faith in any other God is shirk. 2. Know the fact that Allah has sent many men as his messengers to teach us the right way to live. 3. Believe that Mohammed (sas) was the last Prophet of Allah (swt). 4. Allah (swt) has sent His teachings through some of the Prophets, which were collected in the form of books. 5. Iman Mufassil. 6. Allah created everything angels, Jinns , plants ,oceans etc. 7. Developing a sense of accountability of Allah for your actions—Jannah and Jahannum. 8. Life after death, day of judgement, Al Qadr: the power ,knowledge & planning of Allah (swt). 9. Five pillars of Islam 10. Learn about Adhan, wudu and movements in different salath, importance of Masjid etc. 11. Sawm—Fasting as a duty to Allah(swt). Special month of Ramadhan, sharing and caring in Ramadhan. 12. Knowing why people travel to Makkah—details of Hajj . 13. Etiquette of Zakah—Giving to less fortunate, no ulterior motive, not as a favor to anyone, should be halal money. 2 1/2 % of your savings every year. 14.
